Great sign I had to look at my watch to see what day it is. Wow, Thursday.
Another good day walking. We left Pamplona in the dark at 7:00. Walked out thought the suburbs. Then started to climb again . This time a mean 400 meters. At the top we visited the Monumento Peregrino. Morgan and I are now technically peregrinos. If we were walking to clear ourselves of past sins we could have touched the rock and we would have been finished. But hey, we are not on this magic bus ride for that reason.
The mountain ridges we could see from the top had hundreds of massive wind turbines. They make Amherst look like a starter kit. Let me tell you they make a great deal of noise.
At the top it was about 15 and very windy ( damn fine place for a wind farm. ). We then started down the other side in the shelter and the sun came out. Must have hit 25 in ten minutes.
The rest of the day was a beautiful walk through farm fields with John Deere tractors turning up the now red soil. Morgan was a few meters ahead talking to Talisa as she walked. For a minute I visualized dad there with her. He would have loved this day.
This is another 1000 year old town with narrow streets. They have a large Roman bridge built before 1100. Now that's quality. I was told that if you were a contractor for the Romans and your bridge fell down while you were alive you were executed. No wonder they are still standing.
Tomorrow is 25 km with few hills.
